With the Mission Locale de Paris

A project to promote professional integration

The project

Since 2024, a partnership signed between the Arc de Triomphe-CMN and the Mission Locale de Paris (MLP) has encouraged them to work together on integration projects for young people in the Paris region.

The MLP is a public service association that supports around 24,000 Parisians aged 16 to 25 who have dropped out of school and are looking for a job or training. Through its support, MLP helps these people to integrate and find their way in the job market, by considering culture as an essential means of integration.

By associating themselves with this educational project, the Arc de Triomphe and the MLP are implementing appropriate and relevant actions for the young people followed by the association.

Objectives

The main aim of this partnership is to offer these young people a range of possibilities in the field of heritage institutions. By using cultural leverage as a means of professional integration, this project aims to present the Arc de Triomphe as a symbol of the transmission and enhancement of heritage, as well as a monument at the service of the inclusion of its public.

Through the discovery of the monument and its history, this project aims to promote heritage culture among young people, while enabling them to understand the workings of a public institution and the issues involved. To reinforce this aspect of training and professionalisation in the world of culture, the commitment made in this partnership also includes professional meetings and citizenship training.

The aim of this partnership is to arouse curiosity, awaken cultural interest, give meaning to the perception of institutions and, possibly, inspire vocations.

From a cultural visit to discovering careers

One example of the proposed format consists of discovery visits followed by professional meetings. This format, which lasts around two hours, consists of a guided tour led by one of the monument's mediators and guide-lecturers, followed by a meeting with professionals behind the scenes of their workplaces.

These meetings are an opportunity for young people to find out about professions that are often multi-skilled in different departments: reception and security, ticket office, shop, cultural and educational. They also provide an opportunity to talk to young visitors and answer their questions about their jobs, missions and career paths.
