For the fourth year running, the Arc de Triomphe has programmed a new edition of the "C'est mon patrimoine! "programme, in partnership with Cultures du Cœur Paris.
The Arc de Triomphe welcomed visual artist Karin Crona for this year's "War & Peace" programme.
After a tour of the monument led by guide Marine Riffault-Romantini, the young participants took part in a creative workshop based on the collage technique. Invited by Karin Crona to revisit the history of the monument, the participants then explored an artistic approach combining images, materials and stories.
This programme was developed with Cultures du Cœur Paris as part of the agreement between the association and the monument.

The day began in the morning with a guided tour of the monument. The young participants discovered the four groups sculpted on the jambs of the Arc de Triomphe. The tour continued at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Flame of Remembrance, places of remembrance and remembrance. After passing through the museum, visitors enjoyed a panoramic view from the terrace.
The early afternoon was spent in a heritage area off-limits to the general public, the Salle des Palmes, where the Unknown Soldier lay for almost two months before his burial on 28 January 1921.
The session began with a presentation by the guest artist, focusing on the Arc de Triomphe and representations of war and peace in the arts - painting, photography and film. Then came the time for creation. Armed with scissors and glue, the young participants put together a work of their own, combining images of the monument and photographs carefully selected beforehand by the artist. Each participant produced an original A3 collage.
At the end of the day, the works were exhibited, and each participant was invited to present his or her work to the group, sharing his or her vision, choice of images and interpretation.
To extend the experience, everyone went home with their work and an invitation to CMP! 2025 invitation to return free of charge with two adults of their choice. On their next visit, they will have the opportunity to become guides to those around them, and in turn pass on what they have discovered.

Designed especially for pre-teens and teenagers, the aim of this event was to encourage them to learn about our military heritage through artistic activities.
The young participants and their supervisors were invited to reconstruct the image of the Arc de Triomphe by giving it a new reading of its history, beyond its duality of "war" and "peace".
In this way, the activity provided an opportunity to re-examine personal and collective realities.

Swedish-born visual artist Karin Crona has lived and worked in Paris since 1999. Her multidisciplinary work explores the links between autobiography, the collective imagination and the female condition through a wide variety of media: photography, drawing, engraving, textile sculpture, collage, installation and digital art.
Inspired by automatic writing, art brut, the graphic novel and cinema, Karin Crona develops a singular universe where intimate narratives and experimental aesthetics intersect. Her work also explores new forms of visual creation in the age of artificial intelligence, as demonstrated by her slideshow Quel cliché! presented at the Quai des Savoirs in Toulouse in 2024.
Committed to a dynamic of sharing, the artist runs a number of creative workshops for young audiences alongside her personal work, in media libraries, schools and cultural structures, thus affirming transmission as a central axis of her approach. To find out more...
