In partnership with Cultures du Cœur Paris, the Arc de Triomphe is taking part in the "C'est mon patrimoine! "2024 to offer a programme based on sound creation and writing for young pre-teens and teenagers.
The Arc de Triomphe-CMN and the Cultures du Cœur Paris association have worked together to organise the 2024 edition of the C'est mon patrimoine! operation. This collaboration is part of their agreement. By inviting the artists Laurence Verdier and Théo Harfoush, this year's event will link the monument with the creation of sound fictions through writing and sound effects.

During the course of a day, the workshop proposes the creation and production of sound fictions inspired by the history and architecture of the Arc de Triomphe, interpreted and sounded by the participants.
After a tour of the monument, artists Laurence Verdier and Théo Harfoush will lead a creative session in a room fitted out as a Laboratoire à Idées, nestled in the monument and transformed for the occasion into a recording studio and artistic journey. Participants will be invited to take an offbeat look at the experience of visiting the monument.
After a collective period devoted to gathering information with a view to writing and discovering sound art, the participants are divided into two groups. Laurence Verdier helped the first group to write their stories. The second is introduced to sound illustration by Théo Harfoush.
The two groups then work together to create and perform a live piece of sound theatre, a story inspired by the monument, which is mainly heard, stimulating the visual imagination through the unique use of sound and speech.

The activity is suitable for young people aged 8-10 or 11-15. The aim is for all participants to open up a space for appropriation, interpretation and free re-creation based on the history of the Arc de Triomphe, using writing and sound creation.
The production of original, fantastic and unexpected stories, inspired by historical elements, is a powerful exercise in imagination that gives participants the means to think critically about history and its mediation tools, by giving them the experience of interpreting the national narrative and sound techniques.
It is also an opportunity to work together in a playful and demanding way, with creative and artistic challenges at stake.

Théo Harfoush seeks out discreet emotions to sing them in the light of day. He draws on Eastern ritual music, French poetry and electronica to veil and reveal his inner self. Singer, multi-instrumentalist and video artist, he first made a name for himself in indie video games, before confessing his love of the stage. He has performed alongside Otomo De Manuel (Pop Corn Circus), Karelle Prugnaud (Tonight Good Night) and Mr. K (Cabaret le Secret), and is currently working on his first EP. To find out more...
