Essential information for your visit
Open during the summer
15 July
On 15 July, the flame of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will pass through the Place Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile, at the foot of the Arc de triomphe. The opening hours of the monument will be delated this day. More details to follow shortly.
26 July
On 26 July, to coincide with the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine, the Arc de triomphe will not be open to the public as usual. The monument will reopen to the public on 27 July at 10am.
28 August
On 28 August, for the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on the Champs-Elysées and Place de la Concorde, the Arc de Triomphe will be under a red security perimeter established by the prefecture from 6pm. This means that motorised vehicles will be prohibited, unless you have a Games Pass. For pedestrians and visitors to the monument, a Games Pass is not required.
Please note that early closure is scheduled for 10pm, with last entry at 8.30pm and evacuation at 9.30pm.
From 06 to 16 September
The Arc de triomphe forecourt will be surrounded by security barricades for one week. This does not constitute an obstacle to visiting the monument, which will be open at its usual times. The drop-off point for vehicles with reduced mobility is still located on the roundabout opposite avenue de la Grande Armée.
14 September
On Saturday 14 September, to mark the parade of Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the Champs-Elysées, the monument will be closed all day and into the night. Tickets sold on the official website of the Centre des monuments nationaux on this day will be automatically refunded.
This summer
The rest of the time, the monument opens its doors at the usual times, from 10am to 11pm (last access 45 minutes before). More information on the Practical Information page.
In the event of exceptional and unforeseen closures, please note that individual tickets booked on our e-ticketing service are automatically refunded. You do not need to make a claim online.
For safety and visitor comfort reasons, the Arc de triomphe will not be open to groups between 26 July and 11 August 2024.
