The Arc de Triomphe is open all year except for 1 January and 1 May.
However, we may be obliged to close the monument for certain official ceremonies or other occasional events.
In these specific cases, a banner notification will appear on our website and on the Affluences app.
If you wish to attend the daily ceremony of Rekindling the Memorial Flame on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, you should contact the Comité de la Flamme sous l’Arc de Triomphe. This association recommends that you make your request well in advance.
All requests should be sent to: secretariat@laflammesouslarcdetriomphe.org
The average waiting time to reach the Arc de Triomphe ticket office is 5 minutes.
To view live waiting times, download the free app Affluences and select Arc de Triomphe.
Monument staff offer a guided tour in French every morning at 10.30 (conditions apply).
These tours are for individual visitors, and are included in the price of your ticket.
Tours last approximately 45 minutes.
You will find the meeting point after the security check next to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The opening times for the Arc de Triomphe gift and book shop are the same as those for the monument.
It is located inside the monument, in the attic room, and can be accessed during the visit.
A reservation is required for groups of more than seven. Reservations cannot be made by phone.
A pre-booking form can be downloaded from the Arc de Triomphe website. This form must be sent at least four weeks before the date requested. Once the booking has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation, and payment will be taken at the monument’s ticket office. For school groups, the reservations department will inform you of the arrangements for payment.
For wheelchair access to the Arc de Triomphe, it is planned to create a parking area on the roundabout, opposite the Avenue de la Grande Armée.
The monument has a lift and ramps allowing access to the museum.
Finally, another lift provides access to the terrace.
All photographs taken using professional equipment must be authorised by the Centre des monuments nationaux.

We organise themed visits mainly for visitors from relay structures in the social domain (non- school groups). We offer an introduction to the Arc de Triomphe, its architecture and its history, through activities in a meeting room and in the monument.
These visits take place during the week from 3pm to 5pm. These are aimed at non-school groups, and are not run at weekends or on public holidays.
